Mitch is the Founder and CEO of CRC Oyster and a member of the Executive Leadership Team.
He established CRC in 2013 with a clear sense of the firm he wanted to build: one grounded in the practical, relationship-driven compliance service he knew from his own time in the CCO seat was genuinely hard to find. That is the organization he has led ever since – deep client relationships, a team that pairs technical depth with a collegiality rare in the industry, and a culture rooted in his conviction that great compliance and great people are not mutually exclusive. That foundation set the stage for the firm’s acquisition of Oyster Consulting in June 2025 and acquisition of Modern Regulatory Solutions LLC in June 2026, extending its reach and deepening its bench. Mitch drives the firm’s business development and relationship management and oversees its strategic compliance and ethics risk management engagements. Before founding CRC, he served as Senior Vice President and Chief Ethics and Compliance Officer at Lincoln Financial Group, where he was a member of the Corporate Leadership Group with direct oversight of the firm’s anti-money laundering, privacy, ethics, and compliance risk management programs. He also led Lincoln’s long-term initiative to modernize its compliance technology infrastructure and served on the committee shaping the firm’s enterprise-wide social media governance. Across his career, Mitch has held compliance leadership roles at investment banks, commercial banks, and hedge funds including Wachovia Capital Markets, PNC Bank, and D.E. Shaw, building expertise spanning buy-side and sell-side businesses, equity and fixed income markets, derivatives, structured products, and variable products, always positioning compliance not as a checkpoint but as an integrated partner in the business, the conviction on which he founded the firm.
Mitch holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics, magna cum laude, from the State University of New York at Oneonta, and maintains Series 4, 7, 9, 10, 24, 55, and 63 securities licenses.
